Put on your shorts and aloha shirt, grab your whole family and enjoy and learn about the stars at a fraction of the cost of a summit tour. We bring an observatory to you, right on the coastline, for a comfortable, accessible experience fun for everyone. No long, bumpy drive up the mountain, no high altitude or oxygen issues, no freezing cold, no long lines.
You get to look at the stars with an 11-inch Celestron Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope during a 1-hour planetarium-class formal presentation during which you will see all significant attractions, including planets, nebulae, double stars, star clusters, and galaxies.
Your guide astronomers know the topics and tell relatable and exciting stories to keep guests spellbound. They point out the constellations using a green laser pointer and provide Starlore and astronomy facts.
The telescopes:
The 11-inch Celestron Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope used during the tour collects 1600 times more light than your eye, and magnifies the objects you will be look at between 50 and 550 times.
What to Bring
The tour will be held on a grass golf course driving range. Dress for warm weather of 70 degrees or warmer. Bring a beach chair or a mat if you cannot stand for the entire hour.
